ADMIRALS TRYOUTS
Our Tryout Process
At Mass Admirals, we believe a fair, thorough, and professional evaluation process is the foundation of building great teams. That’s why we use a combination of independent evaluators and our coaching staff in every tryout. Nobody knows their team needs better than the coaches, and our independent evaluators ensure a non-biased, consistent, and equitable assessment for every player on the ice.
Our tryouts consist of two evaluation sessions:
-
Session 1: All players attend. All players should expect to attend the second evaluation for a second look. In some cases, some players may receive roster offers after the first skate, but are still welcome to the second evaluation.
-
Session 2: This session is used to finalize decisions and compare players within their birth year. There is no additional cost for the second evaluation.
We also follow Massachusetts Hockey’s standard tryout protocol, including structured decision timelines and internal review. Throughout the week, our staff holds two board meetings dedicated to roster formation to ensure every selection is deliberate, collaborative, and in the best interest of team development.
The result: a transparent, well-run process that puts players first and builds balanced, competitive teams at every level.
